For this assessment, I was tasked to create a promotional 45 second video trailer for this fictional film by Wee Li Lin, that targets youths 16-25 who enjoy hip youth dance elements, are media savvy and love nostalgic stories. In Adobe After Effects, I created a motion graphic opener and end tag, as well as animated text that needed to be included. In Davinci Resolve, I edited, colour corrected and colour graded the trailer using the footage provided, incorporating the motion graphics created as well.

I wanted my trailer to have the essence of retro visuals, that imitated the films of the 80s and 90s. I wanted it to be colourful and warm, much like the films of that era. As of recent, some films and tv shows have more muted colour grades, while in the past, they were much more vibrant. I wanted to use colour to distinctly separate the two eras, as well as to create a fun and intriguing world that the film takes place in.
